FINNISH GODS OF WAR AND METAL
The band Turisas was founded in 1997 in the Finnish city of Hämeenlinna, taking on the name of an ancient god of war. Turisas’ debut album came out in 2004 and introduced the band into the minds of fans as an energetic and innovative pagan-metal formation that can get its fans going both with its recordings and with its live shows. Turisas can boast about hundreds of shows all over the world, including festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Bloodstock Open Air, and alongside of e.g. Cradle of Filth, Dragonforce or Moonspell. In the present, the band has four albums under their belt, the latest one of which came out in 2013, often labelled the wildest so far and full of Turisas’ unique sound with a bit of power metal, symphonics, and even punk added into the mix. Don’t miss these Finnish warriors at MOM 2015!
