When SILENT STREAM OF GODLESS ELEGY released their first album back in 1996, it was very well received by critics and stirred up the world of music. The real launch to the stars came with the release of the second album and the success was reaffirmed with another record in 2000, which raised the bar even higher, receiving an award from the Czech Academy of Popular Music. With the beginning of a new millennium, SSOGE went through significant personnel changes, which led to new views on music and another album in 2004. SSOGE mixes the energy of Doom metal with elements of Moravian folk music. This fusion can be labelled ethno-metal, for which SSOGE won another Anděl award. Since then, the band released two more albums, and now they’re working on another, which is to come out in 2014, produced by Yossi Sassi, the guitarist of Orphaned Land. Besides long-playing records and awards, SSOGE can brag about giving shows in Holland, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Poland and Hungaria alongside Crade of Filth, Korpiklaani or Anathema.
