A BAND MADE OF METAL!
The band DREAM EVIL, whom we’re proud to present today, was created on an impulse from the Swedish producer Frederik Nordström. His lifelong dream of having a band started coming to fruition in 1999, when he met guitarist Gus G (who also played with Ozzy Osbourne and bands Firewind or Arch Enemy). The blooming band’s home was in Studio Fredman, the birthplace of albums by HammerFall, In Flames or Dimmu Borgir. The founding members were joined by Snowy Shaw (King Diamond, Therion) in the drummer post and singer Niklas Isfeldt, who was brought to DREAM EVIL via the friendship with HammerFall, whose albums he had worked on in the past. His vocals are often compared to those of Rob Halford (Judas Priest). In their beginnings, the quintet was completed by Peter Stålfors.
In a year, the band signed a contract with Century Media and performed for the first time under the name DREAM EVIL, inspired by Ronnie James Dio’s album. In 2002, this heavy metal band released its debut album, which unleashed a storm in the world of media and among music experts. After many strongly positive reactions, DREAM EVIL received not only invitations to festivals, but also on a tour with Blind Guardian or HammerFall.
